Internal engine antifreeze leak.
White smoke is antifreeze, intake or headgasket.
Smoke can come from several things. White smoke when first starting on a cold day is normal. Black smoke indicates the wrong fuel/air mixture. Blue smoke indicates that the engine is burning oil.
I also have a 1993 Cadillac DeVille and smoke is coming out of the steering wheel. wish I had an answer.

The first thing that comes to mind related to those symptoms is a blown head gasket.
Lawn morwer white smoke when starting and again when turning it off. Does this hurt it. Do i need oil
Blue smoke, the valve seals may be leaking; white smoke may be condensation build-up in exhaust pipe; black smoke may be too much gas delivery at start-up.
If your 6.5 Chevy diesel smokes white smoke when you first start it up, it could just need warming up. It could also indicate an issue with the motor.

There are three types of smoke that will exhust from your gasoline engine: White smoke, actually is steam from condensation of water within the muffler and exhust system. Number two is Black smoke, this is from unburned fuel. The engine is running far richer that it needs to be. Number three is blue smoke. This is usually associated with oil comsumption.
White smoke is an indication that you have coolant in the combustion chamber. Almost always caused by a blown head gasket or cracked head. Stop driving this car until you repair this or you will destroy the engine.
