oxygen (air) and food
Short answer: YES, because all air inhaled and exhaled passes through the pharynx/throat.The pharynx (or throat) is divided into 3 parts which are (from superior to inferior) nasopharynx, oropharynx and laryngopharynx. The first part, the nasopharynx, is specially adapted for respiration. The 2 lower parts are adapted for both respiration and digestion as both air and food pass through them.
The nose, pharynx, trachea, and bronchi.
The pharynx is the back of the throat (divided loosely into nasopharynx and oropharynx) which allows food to enter the oesophagus and air to enter the thrachea.
In terms of the respiratory tract, the pharynx is proximal to the lung. It comes before the lungs as air moves through the respiratory tract.

oxygen (air) and food
The pharynx serves as a passageway for both food and air.
Air passes through: 1. Nose or Mouth 2. Nasal cavity 3. Pharynx 4. Larynx 5. Trachea (in throat) 6. Bronchus (in chest) 7. Bronchioles (finer tubes inside lungs) into the alveoli (tiny pockets inside lungs). The o2/co2 exchange occurs in the alveoli where they interface with capillaries. Hope this helps.

The Pharnycx
It's transferred to the air which passes through the condenser fins.
The main function of the pharynx is to provide a passageway for the respiratory and digestive tracts. The pharynx is also referred to as the throat. It houses the tonsils, the uvula, epiglottis and is the entrance way to the esophagus. The pharynx or throat, allows common passageway for air into your lungs and food into your stomach. The pharynx has two roles. The upper part of the pharynx will only allow food to pass through, and the lower part of the pharynx allows air, fluids, and food to pass through.
