No you don't need to do either of those but you do need to disconnect the oil sending unit to be able to drop the starter out of the frame.
The starter is located at the passenger side below the engine exhaust manifold facing the flywheel parallel to the transmission.
Under the front exhaust manifold. You have to remove the manifold to remove the starter.
You have to remove the exhaust manifold to get to the starter.
The starter but bolts must be reach first remove intake manifold. Drop shaft exhaust loosen transmission Braves and tilt down transmission slightly to access starter from back. Replace starter and return closures.
You have to remove the exhaust pipe from exhaust manifold on starter side. Now you have access. Get exhaust pipe to exhaust manifold gasket first, you will probably need to replace it after taking them apart.
The starter on most engines in most vehicles is located on the driver's side, rear of the engine, below the exhaust manifold (if there is one on that side). It will be bolted to the front of the transmission bellhousing.
The starter is on the left side (inside) of the engine underneath the exhaust manifold.
Depends on the year and the engine. Under the exhaust manifold or under the intake manifold.
it is on the driver side just beneath the exhaust manifold. you will need to remove the exhaust or the cv joint to drop the starter
To replace it remove the battery terminal so you will not have power. Loosen the bolts (use liquid wrench or wd40 for this will be rusty) exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifold (driver side) and then you need to loosen the exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifold to the part where it connect exhaust pipe from the other side of the exhaust manifold (passenger side) and then you need to loosen the electrical wire from the starter and then loosen the bolts that connect the starter now you can wiggle the starter to pull it out you need to try to figure out how to get it through the loosen exhaust pipe ( but it should come out)
Four cylinder, it is on the back of the engine under the exhaust manifold. Six cylinder it is on the front of the engine, below the exhaust manifold.
Under the front bank exhaust manifold.
