it could be that one of your light bulbs are burnt (or just plain broke) out on the side its flashing rapidly on. If that's not the case then check your fuse box located on the drivers side, under the dash(you have to open the door to find it). open it and see if the corresponding fuse is broke. replace it if need be. If all else fails then it is a wiring problem and prepare to spend a little money on a repair shop because you need to call your volkswagon dealer right away and find out the best course of action from there.
