As the Colonies fought to expand their rights, British Rule seemed to tighten around them. By the time the British placed a series of acts called the Intolerable Acts on the Colonists, America was already seeing anti-British demonstrations. The Townshend Acts formed a program of taxing items imported to the colonies; such as paper, lead, glass, and tea. These acts along with the presence of British soldiers in the colonies sparked a rebellious spirit in the colonists that would lead to the Boston Massacre.
Do you have Mr. Emett for U.S. History?
