smilodon, while not existing as late as 10000bce, are depicted in the movie. furthermore, they only existed in the Americas. terror birds such as phorohacus are also depicted. like the smilodon reference, their time on this earth was far and away over in Egypt by 10k bc. Wooley mammoths did exist at this time, finally becoming extinct 3 or 4 k bc. all three of these animals were depicted at least 40 percent larger than they actually were. this movie, while somewhat entertaining, was frustrating on many levels when considering historical accuracies. smelted and engraved iron swords, telescopes, written languages, and,oh yeah, the pyramids at Giza were being built with mammoths and slave labor. hmmmmm..........
3.6 billion years ago the first prokaryotic cells are believed to have appeared on the Earth. It is possible that older evidence may eventually come to light, but it is currently believed that no other life would be present on the Earth (and certainly no animals) that long ago. During this time period, a wide variety of cells are believed to have existed, but almost all life from this era was systematically exterminated in a cyanobacteria-led genocide culminating in the formation of the planet we now live on. This horrific extinction is known as the oxygenation catastrophe or the Great Oxygenation Event (depending on which side your account is biased towards) and the relegation of almost all non-cyanobacterial life to dark and hidden places-- the depths of the earth, the hearts of flaming geysers deep within the ocean, and the inside of poorly processed canned food cans-- where the few surviving species remain today. The mass poisoning of the planet and destruction of the entire global ecosystem occurred about 2.5 billion years ago.
Many of the animal species that are alive today existed back then. However, there were also a number of animals that lived back then which are extinct now. Woolly mammoths, woolly rhinoceros, European lions and hyenas, herbivorous cave bears, and also Neanderthals (an extinct species of human), lived in Europe and parts of Asia.
In North America, there were saber toothed cats, American lions, Columbian mammoths, huge bison, flat faced bears, dyer wolves, giant ground sloths, glyptodons (a type of gigantic armadillo the size of a small car), camelops (American camels), to name a few.
South America had a variety of strange creatures including giant ground sloths, glyptodons, and saber toothed cats.
In Australia, there were marsupial lions, diprotodons (giant wombat-like animals), several types of large kangaroos (one of which is the largest known kangaroo to have ever lived, and was up to 10 feet tall), huge birds called Dromornithids, which were 10 feet tall and had huge beaks, and a 21 foot carnivorous monitor lizard.
By 60,000 years ago, modern humans lived in Africa, Australia, and Asia, but not yet in Europe or the Americas.
There are a lot of others that I couldn't mention, so check out the related links to get more complete lists.
In the ocean there were a wide varieties of organisms, some of which can still be seen today. Trilobites, a variety of arthropod, were present but had been largely decimated by an extinction event. There was also a wide variety of fish, including some sharks that were far different from modern ones. On land, insects were dominant, while amphibians, some of them quite large, lived in and near freshwater bodies. Some of the earliest reptiles emerged around this time, and were able to travel farther from water.

It is impossible to determine exactly how many people have lived and died over the past 6000 years, as historical records are limited and population estimation methods vary. However, estimates suggest that the total number of people who have ever lived could range from 100 billion to 115 billion.
