Many questions on Answers.com get answered minutes after being asked. Some questions don't get an answer for a very long time.
To maximize chances of your question getting an answer:
- Make sure you use proper wording when submitting the question (spell check it, use correct grammar).
- Don't ask too generic questions that are hard to answer. For example - if you want to ask about a car issue then make sure to mention the car model.
- Make sure you categorize the question in the right category. People follow categories and will notice your new question and maybe choose to answer it.
- Share the question page with your friends and followers on Facebook, Twitter or via email.
- Once you get a good answer - don't forget to recommend the answerer and say thank you. This helps answerers motivated and come back to answer more questions that people like you ask.

The ads on Wiki Answers pay for the cost of running its website, management, staff, and so forth. If it weren't for ads, we would have to charge you to ask questions. Nobody wants that! It is duly noted that you believe our site, "Sucks". That's OK.

Why does answer dot com suck so much?
It doesn't ! WikiAnswers is a community of MILLIONS of people - it's not just ONE individual. The vast majority of questions get decent (and sometimes lengthy) answers. Perhaps your question wasn't worded right, posted in the wrong category or lacked sufficient information - resulting in an inferior answer.
