I personally need a consensus answer to this question. I hope our research experts will help us here. I feel research method consist of the type of research - qualitative, quantitative or mixed methods as well as the research design and all proceudues used in collecting and analysing data with which to find valid answers to research questions or carry valid test of research hypotheses. These include: population of the study, sampling procedure, the sample, instrumentation (including instrument construction and validation), data collection procedures, ethical collection, data preparation and procedure for answering research question or testing research hypotheses. Research design differ with the type of research that one deems suitable for finding valid answers to his/her research questions. What is the relationship between the problem statement and the research design?

Sample design and research design are two closely related concepts in research methodology, and the two are often interdependent. Research design refers to the overall plan or strategy for conducting research, including the selection of research methods, data collection procedures, and data analysis techniques. The research design is typically determined by the research question and the purpose of the study. Sample design, on the other hand, refers to the process of selecting a sample from a larger population for research or data analysis. The sample is a subset of the population that is selected to represent the population's characteristics accurately. The sample design is determined by the research question, the research design, and the population's characteristics. The relationship between sample design and research design is that the sample design is a critical component of the research design. The research design determines the overall approach to the study, while the sample design determines the specific subset of the population that will be studied. The research design guides the selection of research methods, data collection procedures, and data analysis techniques, while the sample design determines the size of the sample, the sampling method, and the criteria for inclusion in the sample. The sample design must be aligned with the research design to ensure that the sample represents the population's characteristics accurately and that the results are valid and reliable. Therefore, sample design and research design are interdependent and must be carefully considered when conducting research to ensure that the results are meaningful and accurate.

What are the five components of a design method?

The design method is used in a variety of fields. The common thread is the steps used in the method. It includes situation, research, ideaton, development and realisation.

What is the research design phase of business research?

The research design phase in business research involves determining the overall approach and methodology to address the research objectives. This phase includes defining the research questions, selecting the research methods, designing data collection tools, and outlining the data analysis process. The research design is crucial as it guides the entire research process and ensures the study is conducted effectively and accurately.

Difference between research method and search model?

A research method refers to the approach or technique used to conduct a study, encompassing procedures for data collection, analysis, and interpretation. On the other hand, a search model pertains to a theoretical framework that outlines the process by which information is retrieved and selected in a search process. While research methods deal with the overall research design, search models specifically focus on information retrieval processes.

What is research methodology and research design?

Research methodology is where you describe the how you're going to gather information (your planned methods); this can be survey, interview, literature review etc. And then you explain each method: what are they, what you will do in each method, and other necessary information.
