you can try to tap on the motor with a stick, or a rod , something similar and a hammer, lightly, only works sometimes, try rolling up the window as you tap.It will involve taking the door panel off. May need a tool to remove interior parts.
If the window is stuck in the down position on a Chevy Silverado, the door panel will have to come off to access the cable mechanism and fix the window. If the windows are electric, there will also be the wiring assembly for the window to remove.
Defective passenger power window switch. It is stuck in the down position. Raise the window and immediately disconnect the switch until you can replace it.Defective passenger power window switch. If your driver's side window goes down halfway and gets stuck in a 1999 Chevy Suburban, the motor could be failing. It could also indicate the window is off the track.
MY DRIVERS WINDOW WAS STUCK IN THE DOWN POSITION, I CHANGED THE WINDOW SWITCH BUT IT DID NOT HELP, I FOUND OUT THAT WHEN I USE THE EXPRESS DOWN THE WINDOW STICKS IN THE DOWN POSITION. I BANGED ON THE DOOR PANEL AND IT STARTED WORKING. NOW I DO NOT USE THE EXPRESS AND I DON'T RUN THE WINDOW ALL THE WAY DOWN TILL I CAN SWAP IT OUT
The question is too vague. Is the glass broken, does the window get stuck half way, does the window fall down, is the motion jerky, is it manual or electric?
There are two possible conditions this question is describing. The first is that the window is seized and inoperable at the middle down position. The second is the window will go no further than middle. In the first it is a sign of a failed motor or regulator. In the second it is possibly an obstruction of the motor arms or window guides. Disassembly of the door panel to access and diagnose will be required.
My rear passenger window sometimes gets stuck in the down position. To roll up the back window I need to SLAM shut driver side door really hard. The driver side door has the master panel for all windows. Sometimes the master switch button for the rear window gets stuck in the down position and by slamming the door it cause the back windows switch to pop up to it's normal position. This is only a temporary work around and does not fix the problem. My car is 1995 and I have doing this procedure for the past 2 years. It works for me and I no intention on getting it repaired permanently.
Well if everything else is working, then the window itself maybe stuck. That maybe the only that could be wrong with it.
I own a 93 g-20 and sometimes my passenger side window will not close, the only times that it will not go up if it is cold outside and I roll it completely down, the motor for the window is located inside the door panel, if the motor is bad then you remove the door panel to access the motor, remove the bolts holding the motor and install a new one, it may just be stuck, if it is stuck in the down position, have someone pull up on the window while you operate the door window switch and see if it will now go up by pulling up on it
You should have a mechanic check your window to see if it is off track. If it is not, then they will be able to replace the computer so that your window works.
