Yes, Ashkenazic Jews are real Jews. Anyone claiming otherwise is basing himself on an anti-Semitic canard made popular by a Jewish Jew-hater named Koestler. It has been debunked by DNA studies on Jewish communities from around the world. It has been found that Ashkenazim, and other Jews from all over the Earth, are quite closely related and originated in the Middle East.

A 2013 study of Ashkenazi mitochondrial DNA found no significant evidence of Khazar contribution to the Ashkenazi Jewish DNA, as would be predicted by the Khazar hypothesis; and although there is no historical or DNA evidence to support the Khazar idea, it is still popular among anti-Semites.

In 2000, the analysis of a report by Nicholas Wade "provided genetic witness that Jewish communities have, to a remarkable extent, retained their biological identity separate from their host populations, evidence of relatively little intermarriage or conversion into Judaism over the centuries. The results accord with Jewish history and tradition and refute theories which would allege that Jewish communities consist mostly of converts."

Exile of the Jews from palestine?

There are a lot of myths about Jews, particularly, the belief that the Jews of Europe, the Ashkenazic Jews, originated in the middle east and migrated to Russia and Europe. However, this does not appear to be historically accurate. Rather, a Russian tribe called the Kazars converted to Judaism, and gave rise to the Ashkenazic Jews. The original Sephardic Jews of the middle east were never actually exiled (unless you want to count the Babylonian Captivity, a much earlier historical event when Jews were forcibly relocated by the Babylonian Empire).

Where they're from. Sephardic Jews originate from Spain (called Sepharad in Hebrew) and Ashkenazic Jews originate from Germany (called Ashkenaz in Hebrew). Over the years these terms have become more generic, and Ashkenazic has come to mean Jews from most countries in Europe, and Sephardic to mean from Spain or any African country.
