Well it really depends on the money that you want to spend. I own a 125cc chinese quad bike and a 250cc Hunter quad bike (also chinese). I know other people that own Yamaha and Honda quads, and the quality is much better, but you get what you pay for. If you want a reliable quad bike that you rely on everyday, you are better off with a better branded quad bike like a Yamaha or Honda, but if you want a run around quad bike that will still do the job and is cheaper, you are better off with a chinese quad bike. In the end it really depends on how much you look after it and how much you want to spend. My 125cc atv is good, but you can see that it is much cheaper quality then a Yamaha. The 250cc atv however is much better quality than the 125cc, but since they are chinese, still expect to fix the occasional thing and tighten stuff every so often. They are a decent bike if you look after them and chinese quad bikes are improving. My chinese atv's are quite good for a cheaper bike but if you get a chinese atv, be prepared for the odd thing here and there to go wrong, but if you look after and maintain them, there is nothing wrong with them, JUST LOOK AFTER THEM!With chinese quad bikes, the bigger the size, the better they are. The 250cc Hunter is capable of towing, pulling a pallet whilst leveling the ground, and it also beat a 450cc Yamaha Grizzly through the gears in a drag race. Top end, however, the Grizzly overtook.
Well there you have it, I hope that this has helped some people who are trying to decide which quad bike to get.
The company Tao Motors is a chinese company and they make powerful 107cc to 250cc atvs

A good quad for a beginner is definitely something in the 200-300 range. Try a Blaster, 300Ex or even a Raptor 350. These bikes will help you get a feel on riding because bigger bikes will easily do 75. Remember, be careful

In most states you need to wear a helmet for quad bikes. Even if it is not a law, when the conditions exist for brain injury, wearing a helmet is always a good idea.
