I just had to change the Oil Pressure Sending Unit on my 2001 Dodge Durango (4.7L). The sending unit is located right next to your oil filter. To be more exact its in between the oil filter and the engine block and is easily viewable from looking underneath the vehicle without even jacking it up. Gas engine is a 46 rh. Diesel is a 47 rh.
Check the hose from the radiator on the passenger side of the engine. It is in the housing where it meets the engine. facing the engine,it is on the lower part of the block,passenger side.
The fuel pressure for a 2004 A Dodge Ram truck with a 1500 5.7 liter engine should run around 47 psi( pounds per square inch). If the fuel pressure is low you might hear grinding or noisy engine.
