Actually, Snickers bars are produced on the same machine as Milky Way bars, and Milky Way has malt in it, which contains gluten. So although Snickers technically have no gluten containing ingredients, there is a very, very strong danger of heavy cross contamination. So Snickers are notgluten-free.

Snickers may contain trace amounts of wheat and/ or barley due to cross contamination occuring at plants processing ingredients for Snickers.

Companies may state their products are Gluten Free (GF) when, according to the Codex Alimentarius are:

"Section 2.1 to state that "Gluten-Free" foods are food stuffs so described:

  • a) Consisting of or made only from ingredients which do not contain any prolamins from wheat or all Triticum species such as spelt, kamut, or durum, wheat, barley, oats, spelt or their crossbred varieties with a gluten level not exceeding 20 parts per million (ppm): or
  • b) Consisting of ingredients from wheat, rye, barley, oats, spelt or their crossbred varieties, which have been rendered "gluten-free"; with a gluten level not exceeding 200ppm: or
  • c) Any mixture of the two ingredients as in a) and b) with a gluten level not exceeding 200ppm."

Snickers does not state their product is Gluten Free, a statement any major food manufacturer would like to place on their labels if it were true, as GF products are more readily purchased nowadays.

Ingredients to Snickers are: Milk Chocolate (SUGAR, COCOA BUTTER, CHOCOLATE, SKIM MILK, LACTOSE, MILKFAT, SOY LECITHIN,ARTIFICIAL FLAVOR), PEANUTS, CORN SYRUP, SUGAR, MILKFAT, SKIM MILK, PARTIALLY HYDROGENATED SOYBEAN OIL, LACTOSE, SALT, EGG WHITES,CHOCOLATE, ARTIFICIAL FLAVOR.

Many people ask about GF/ Wheat Free who are typically allergic to quite a few other common products, such as corn and soy. Upon review of the above-mentioned ingredients, the more-alarming ones include:

Sugar

Corn Syrup

Soy Lecithin

Milk

Soybean Oil

Eggs

Artificial Flavor.

The artificial flavor oftentimes creates allergic reactions, as these are molecular compounds created in laboratories, and therefore, not natural to our human bodies.

The most alarming issue however, is that of GMO ingredients in this product. Genetically Modified Organisms are plants or animals created in a lab utilizing gene-splicing technologies. These genes are spliced into a plant or animal, and future variations of these genes are unknown. So mutations will have a long-lasting evolution on our human DNA structure until the possible end of time.

The genes in question are:

1) a gene spliced into soy, sugarbeets, and the like that sequester nutrients so weeds die off when the plant is sprayed with a pesticide (typically glycophate/ Roundup), yet the plant growing does not. This means that your gut begins growing this gene for up to 2 weeks following eating a GMO food (water the movie "Genetic Roulette"), causing your body to hide or sequester vital nutrients from your body's use just like it did for the weeds in the fields.

GMO Glyphosate ingredients in this product are in the grain used to grow the milk and eggs, they are the sugar (95% of sugarbeets int he USA are grown with GMO seed), they are the soy/ soy oil (90+% soy in USA is genetically altered), etc and this is creating the 400% increase in Allergies per year.

2) The corn. The corn syrup ingredients and byproducts of corn used in this product come from a variety that is not necessarily for human consumption. This corn is called "Bt Corn", and is an actual pesticide listed with the USDA. It is a pesticide, because it was spliced with a gene that allows the plant to create a toxin that mutates and kills the bugs that eat from this corn plant. Then for weeks after consuming it, this gene continues to flourish in our guts and continue killing beneficial organisms in our guts assisting in our digestion process (watch the movie: "King Corn").
