I would steer clear of the Jeep Wrangler...they are unstable and mechanically not sound. I would recommend a Toyota Rav4. They are stable, handle the road well, and are mechanically one of the best SUVs out there.
ok here is the real answer if you want a vehicle that you want to go totally offroad the rubicon is great, for street use the rav would be better more comfortable and human friendly
The Jeep Wrangler is the very best example of a nimble functional 4wd vehicle that will go anywhere and do anything. Why do you think it is the top selling vehicle in New York City? You can park one anywhere. The Jeep Wrangler is engineered to go off road. It needs to be able to maneuver around rocks and trees in tight spaces. The Jeep Wrangler has the most advanced electronic stability program available. This program is on all Jeep vehicles. It helps people maintain control of their vehicles in all conditions. Many car manufacturers don't have a standard electronic stability program. Anybody that compares a Jeep Wrangler against a car is just not the kind of person that understands what a Jeep Wrangler is. Hey, have fun out there. I will! Go Jeep!
The Jeep Wrangler comes in a 4-door family friendly version that has a longer wheel base and, like all Wrangler models, has the Electronic Stability Control that helps even new drivers maintaine control in slippery conditions. The 2-Door models are the bad boys of the Wrangler family. They have the best approach, departure, and breakover angles of any vehicle made, so they can goover things that other vehicles couldn't attempt. Hey, It's A Jeep Thing? Some people just don't understand!
All vehicles of this period in the US do, it is a federal law.
