The question is incomplete. Are JW beliefs any different today than what other time? Five years ago, a decade ago, five decades ago? "Beliefs" are generally the same as they have always been. There has been a further understanding of the scriptures in the past fifty years, just as there have been medical and scientific discoveries in the same timeframe. We continue to examine the scriptures daily, but our beliefs have not changed any many ways. For an in-depth examination into what Jehovah's Witnesses believe, please, visit the official website at the following URL: http://www.jw-media.org/beliefs/index.htm. This is an excellent source for anyone who may have questions of this nature.

Jehovah's Witnesses (I am one) study the Bible. In all reality, if when the Bible is followed, women have many more rights than today's society gives them.
The New World Translation (NWT) of Jehovah's Witneses is not a "different bible" but simply one of the many translations of the bible available today. It has the same number of books, in the same order, the same "old" and "new" testament and the same verses as all traditional bibles (see below to see the NWT online). The bible is about how mankind fell into sin and suffering and God's plan to help them.
The modern day history of Jehovah's Witnesses started with Charles Taze Russell. .The name for the organization was adopted in 1931.According to Isaiah 43 v 10, prior to this date, the Jewish people were referred to as "God's (Jehovah) witnesses" - "Ye [are] My witnesses, an affirmation of Jehovah [...]" (Youngs Literal Translation) - and Jehovah's Witnesses today believe the name can be applied to all God's servants past and present including Jesus Christ.
OpinionOne reason that some prefer to interpret the Bible for readers, is that they can give their own interpretation to various passages, to influence the beliefs of the faithful. Thus, a Catholic interpretation may be very different from that of an Episcopalian interpretation, and both could be different from that of a Jehovah's Witness or a Morman. When someone explains a passage just as it would be read without interpretation, that person is often heavily criticised as interfering in theology. For this reason, some say that the Bible should not be read at all by those without faith.
The Three major beliefs in the world today are Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. Hinduism and Buddhism are also believed by many.
According to the Jehovah's Witness Media site, The 2011 special Bible discourse is entitled "Bible Principles-Can They Help Us to Cope With Today's Problems?" and will be given in Kingdom halls worldwide during the week of April 25

By current issues if you are referring to what non-witness topics are currently in the public eye, the fact is Jehovah's Witnesses by way of their neutral stand regarding politics and the doctrinal separation they maintain with other religions remain somewhat out of the limelight regarding the popular "issues" of today. If by "current issues" you are referring to what is of interest to Jehovah's Witnesses themselves, their point of focus has remained constant in that they concentrate on preaching the gospel and publishing the good news from the bible.
