The SMF forum software is good. I currently use it for my forum. At first glance it may seem complicated, but the more you tinker with it, the more you realize that it is fairly easy to operate. The only thing I suggest is to stay away from Ipage Web Hosting while using SMF unless you are a fan of extra maintenance support like me. Ipage does not allow Root directory permissions to be changed, and my experience has taught me that this makes some SMF software manipulations impossible. There may be other webhosts like this as well. Be sure to do due diligence on the company you want to work with before choosing.
