If your having trouble trying equipping different armor too see if it defends against his poison attacks or go back and level up all the stages in your crystarium, it may take some time but he will go down easy. oh one more thing try leveling up your weapons.

It Really doesn't matter just pick the ones you like. But this is a sum up of the characters Lightning- I suggest always having her she is the most rounded character, she is always a valuable team member. Fang- Fang is the best commando role later on in the game surpassing lightning she is good for the team. Vanille- A good medic and a good ravager learns death later on. Hope- Hope is the best medic in the game and has the highest magic power Sahz- He is the worst character he doesnt exceed in any skill. Snow- Snow has the most hp throughout the whole game, but later on that shouldn't matter, his commando role is low compared to lightnings and fangs, and his ravager is lower than almost all of the others, he exceeds at sentinel. In my opinion though the best partys are 1. Lightning Fang and Hope 2. Lightning Fang and Vanille
