Most were and some aren't.
Answer #2: In the older classic Beetles most of them were manual transmissions, they also had something called an autostick transmission. You used a clutch to take off but then only had to press a button on the shifter when switching gears instead of pressing in the clutch pedal. The new Beetles can be bought with either automatic or stick shift transmissions, I'm sure the automatic outsells the stick.
transmission stop engaging, after fuel stop, why
The VW Beetle does not have clutch fluid. There is not any fluid associated with the clutch. The transmission has transmission fluid.
I have a VW Jetta 1.8t with the tiptronic transmission and it cost about $3500 to have rebuilt. I was bummed, but these transmissions are notorious for failing.
A diagram for a 1995 VW Jetta exhaust system can be found in a Chilton's Automotive Repair manual for that year and make of vehicle. This type of repair manual can be found at most automotive parts stores and possible at a public library.
On the transmission's bell housing, passenger side.
the closest vw beetles came to having an automatic transmission is called an auto-stickit has a gear shifter like a manual trans, but no clutch pedal. you push down on the stick, and then shift gears.
You have to shift gears in all of them, so you'd call them "manual," but in 1969 you could get an "autostick" transmission that had an automatic clutch connected to a manual transmission.
Top of the transmission...
All VW Beetles have two doors.
transmission stop engaging, after fuel stop, why
The "automatic gearbox" Volkswagen used to put in Beetles is an "autostick" transmission. It has a three-speed manual transmission connected to a vacuum-operated clutch and a torque converter. There's no clutch pedal but you still have to shift it.
Manual or Automatic?
Yes, the VW Rabbit will be available in both standard and automatic transmission. The transmission options are a 5 speed manual or 6 speed automatic.
If the car has a manual gear box, there is none.
Why do you even care?
3.2 quarts is what myhaynes repair manual says.
It had only one transmission and that is the Baulk synchronized, dry clutch, four-speed manual.
