No. There can be huge differences. A brighter star at a bigger distance will look just like a weaker star at a shorter distance.

Are all the stars in constellation the same distance away fromm us?

Any constellation is a group of stars that appear to form some kind of pattern, but have no connection with each other. They all happen to be in roughly the same direction from us, but they're all at different distances. So there's no such thing as a constellation's distance from us.

What is constellation are all the stars in the constellation the same distance from us why do groups of stars continue to stay together?

"What is a constellation" - A visible group of stars, all in the same direction, that seem (to us) to form some picture."Are all the stars in the constellation the same distance" - No, they just happen to be in the same direction."Why do groups of stars continue to stay together" - They are extremely far away. They do move, but the distances are enormous, and it takes a while (say, a few thousands of years in the usual case) before we notice a movement."What is a constellation" - A visible group of stars, all in the same direction, that seem (to us) to form some picture."Are all the stars in the constellation the same distance" - No, they just happen to be in the same direction."Why do groups of stars continue to stay together" - They are extremely far away. What is the distance in light years of Cenaturus constellation from earth?

A constellation is basically a general direction in space. It doesn't have a definite distance. Different stars in a constellation are at different distances. The closest star from Earth happens to be in the Centaurus constellation, at a distance of about 4.2 light-years. But please note that other stars in the same constellation are much, much farther from us.A constellation is basically a general direction in space. It doesn't have a definite distance. Are stars in a constellation are a bout the same distance away?

Not at all! They are in lines of sight which are close to each other and they are all so far away that they do not appear to move very much relative to one another. But in most constellations some stars are likely to by hundreds, if not thousand, of times as far away than the nearest stars. For example, Proxima Centauri, in the constellation Centaurus is approx 4.3 light years away (the nearest star to us), while the same constellation also contains Krzeminski's star, at a distance os 26000 ly. Furthermore, an object which we think of as a star can be a galaxy: Centaurus contains the Centaurus Cluster which is approx 160 million ly away.
