No. Bedbugs don't hang around the bed but they go back to deep hiding places, under carpets cracks in walls etc. You may see other evidence though like droppings etc. Best thing to do is call your local council who'll be able to fumigate your place for free to be on the safe side.

Bed bugs fed off of blood, and therefore are attracted to pieces of furniture where humans may sit. I cannot see any reason why they would not be attracted to carpet. If you think you have them in your carpet you should be able to see them if you try hard enough. They may escape visibility because of the depth of your carpet, but they are definitely large enough to see.

It isn't likely to get bed bugs that way . Bed bugs have been around for years and they first came about when people would sleep on hay mattresses night there would be mini bugs bitting people.You may get termites from a rotting corpse but not bed bugs. You will not get bed bugs this way unless the deceased brought bed bugs with them into the bed before they died.
