In WY they are legal to own or possess.
HOWEVER - they may not be carried in a concealed manner (e.g.: in your pocket).
Yes. As of July 1st, 2013 all gravity knives are legal to own and carry in the state of Kansas.
Butterfly knives are ILLEGAL in Louisiana per State Code R.S. 14:95. That means you cannot carry one or even own one!
A difficult question answer because of the fact that the statutes of the various states describe them differently and give them different names (e.g.: butterfly knives - gravity knives - balisongs - etc). Your best course of action is to call your local law enforcement agency and simply asked if they are prohibited or not.Why would a butterfly be a knifegeezeryour a spaszebra they hgave butterfly knifes you doughnut
Texas is the only state left in the u.s. Where they are not regulated.Added: The above answer is only partially correct. It all depends on how the state law defines these knives. Butterfly knives - Ballisongs - Gravity knives - etc. Many ban them (or exempt them) using different names or descriptions. Check your individual state lasws.
That's sort of a gray area. The answer, I believe, is that they are legal to buy and own but not legal to conceal and carry. One handed opening knives like tactical folders, that open via the use of a thumb stud or thumb hole with a blade that is less than 5" are perfectly legal to own and carry in NJ. However knives that open via a switch or button such as spring assisted folders or switchblades are totally illegal in NJ. It is possible to buy butterfly knives in Army Navy surplus stores in NJ but such stores do not sell switchblades, so I am assuming it is legal to buy butterfly knives in NJ, otherwise I don't think these stores would risk selling them.
butterfly knives are legal but they must be under 3.5 inches. Balisong trainers are legal however.
Balisong knives, also called butterfly knives, are legal in Illinois.
