Sometimes, c-sections can't be helped for different reasons:
1. The mother's pelvis is too small for the baby to pass through
2. The baby shifts position in the womb.
3. Illnesses that make it too dangerous for vaginal births
4. Umbilical cord gets twisted in the womb
5. Nothing happens during labor

My mother in law cooked healthy food for me lots of soups..chicken soup with veggies, beef stew again with veggies, white rice, chicken, hot chocolate, warm teas..etc they say warm liquids are good after csections as per my former nurse
