If it is truly a good answer you do not have to ask for trust points. No. Asking for trust points is not allowed; they are given voluntarily by others, and should not be solicited.

What happens when you do not get trust points?

Nothing really. If you truly deserve them, supervisors and contributors will recognize you!

Are all contributors not getting their trust points when they answer a question?

Trust points are given by the Readers of your answers. Each member can recommend a contributor once. Answers are counted as contributions.

Has the WikiAnswers system of Trust Points changed?

Currently, the WikiAnswers system of trust points hasn't changed - you can only add trust points, and you can only recommend from a question the user has answered by going to the contributors tab and clicking "recommend".
