If you are asking in regard to why some people prefer to use other versions, then it would be because the King James version is written in old English which is hard for some people to understand. Therefore other versions were written to make them more understandable to a modern world. As long as the basic text is the same, different versions can be used. I prefer to refer to different versions to help me understand a certain verse. I own a King James, NIV, and Living Bible. Each one has a unique way of portraying the same text.
