Most enzymes are proteins, yes. However, the statement (used some number of years ago) that all enzymes are proteins is false. There are a few (but important) exceptions to that generalization.

Enzymes are proteins comprised of amino acids linked together in one or more polypeptide chains. This sequence of amino acids in a polypeptide chain is called the primary structure. This, in turn, determines the three-dimensional structure of the enzyme, including the shape of the active site.

Yes, enzymes are mostly proteins. They act as biological catalysts to different chemical reactions occurring in living organisms. They are composed of chains of amino acids. Having unique three dimensional structure, enzymes bind to substrate molecules, reduce binding energy required for that particular reaction (catalyze it in this way) and the reaction proceeds further. The specific binding and catalytic activity depends upon the special arrangement of amino acid in the enzyme's active site, a region where the substrate binds.

So we can say Enzymes are proteins having special role of facilitating chemical reactions in living organisms.

Enzyme are biological catalysts . they help to speed up the differnt chemical reactions in human body . Without them the life would be impossible . they are solely of proteins

They have following characteristics

The are biological catalyst

They speed up the reactions without being used up

Every specific reaction require a specific enzyme

Rate of enzyme catalyzed reaction depends upon

Concentration of substrate

Number of active sites

Ph

Temperature

Yes, enzymes are proteins. Proteins are large molecules composed of amino acids, and enzymes are a specific type of protein that acts as a catalyst in biological reactions. They facilitate and accelerate chemical reactions in living organisms by lowering the activation energy required for the reaction to occur. Enzymes play crucial roles in various biological processes, including metabolism, digestion, and cellular signaling.

Yes, enzymes are proteins made up of amino acids . Proteins comprising enzymes mostly develop a tertiary or quarternary structure . Due to proteins as fundamental units, enzymes are mostly very sensitive to temperature ph and substrate.

YES!!!

However, not all proteins are enzymes.

Enzymes are a very specific protein. They catalyse a biological reaction in very specific environment.

Enzymes are generally consists of protein.Few enzymes have non-protein part such as nucleic acid.Enzymes that are not proteins are ribozymes( ribonucleic acid enzymes). They are RNA based enzymes.
