No, they are different seeds coming from different plants. Nutritionally chia seeds are more rich in some minerals but flax seeds - in omega-3 although both contain the same nutrients overall.

∙ 13y agoFlax seed meal is just ground flax seed. Although you should check and make sure on the package that it is 100% flax seed. There are varieties ( I know of one offered at Trader Joe's) That does contain blueberry and other additives. So be cautious when choosing your flax seed meal.
