Yes, I would. I have 2 adults and 5 pups myself. They are faithful companions with beautiful coats. They are much cuter than pet guinea pigs, mice, rats, and hamsters. They also bite less than them.
In the choice of buying a rodent, I would choose a gerbil, but watch out!! When you go to the pet store, hold the gerbil you want. This is very important. When I went to the pet store, I thought one gerbil was SO cute, then I held him. He bit the fire out of me and blood was pouring out of my finger onto the floor. If they do bite you and you bleed, (which gerbils bite very very rarely, and the females mostly bite.) try to squeeze most of the blood out, because they are rats, and as we know, some have diseases. So good luck finding a gerbil!
Make sure you find one YOU want. Oh, and males bite less. I recommend getting a orange male. They are so sweet. Males bite your shirt and put holes in them sometimes, so keep them away from your shirt. Reg1gy has a special "gerbil shirt" :3
they also produce little waste, so yes.
a gerbil is very easy to take care of. All you need is a cage a water bottle and a food dish Mice is another good choice they look like gerbils and are very playful. They need the same stuff that a gerbil does. A hamster is a good choice, but teddy bear and dwarf hamsters only live to be 2 or 3 years old. Guinea pigs are my least favorite because you need a big cage, a big water bottle, a lot of food and a lot of bedding.
You shouldn't need to regularly wash a gerbil.
However, if they really need one, please do not use soap and water. If not properly dried off, this could kill the gerbil. Gerbils are desert animals an take dust baths, so if you want to give the one, make it a dust bath. If, however, your gerbil got something such as paint or gum in their fur, got in a fight and started bleeding, had a really bad smell, etc... then it's possible give them a bath with water. Just remember, when using water, try to keep it out of their ears and eyes, and use warm water. Use small animal shampoo (or search gerbil shampoo on Google to find appropriate shampoo) and remember to rinse it all off and dry well!
yes they are very funny and cute little animals very lively a lot better than a hamster or rabbit or guinea pig for the main fact there energetic very funny and do NOT smell as they are very clean rodents they love to interact with a partner but if your going to have a gerbil you have to buy at least two because if a gerbil is on his own it can get lonely and die
if there's load of children making loads of noise then no gerbils have very sensitive ears and will get stressed and if they bite they wont let go
gerbils are very easy to take care of, it's still a good idea
Well, go to a pet store such as Petsmart or Petco and pick out one you like!
some gerbils just do it for fun.
Gerbils are very playful animals and they love to run around in your sleeves and pockets, in fact some call them "pocket pets"
Rotastak Main Housing units, fairground fun, space command, creepy castle, pink palace are fine for gerbils as they are a big size.
For fun they like to chew paper and cardboard. They also like to run in plastic balls, once they learn how!
Gerbils are much better. They are inexpensive and fun to watch. Guniea pigs smell and are very costly.
they are similar, but not the same. they are both rodents, but have different shaped faces, and mice are slightly smaller. gerbils have fury tails, mice have hairless ones.gerbils hop on their hind legs, mice crawl around. gerbils smell less, are more inteligent (usually), and become more tame (usually). mice are the easiest small pet to look after as they are the least inteligent small animal. gerbils are more fun, and still very easy to look after. most people prefer pet gerbils to pet mice.
Gerbils are an animal and can not be "invented".
Other gerbils.
Male gerbils can be neutered, but it is not recomended. Female gerbils should not be spayed. In general male gerbils should not be neutered unless there is a good reason for it.
Yes, mice are smaller than gerbils, but I think gerbils are the right size.
no gerbils are not originally from the UK but instead from the deserts of Asia. But you can still buy gerbils in the UK
Yes, e.g Mongolian Gerbils.
