Hybrids technically pollue the environment because of the recharging. You plug it in the power point at home and it uses up alot of energy just like using a dryer of somthing like that at home. But it would be nice to have a hybrid. Not!
of corse they are they dont use gas they use energy by pluging them in !!!!!!!!! so yeahh they are
hybrids help the environment by not using fossil fuels.
Hybrids are more efficient and more friendly to the environment. Hybrids cost more.
No smart cars are not hybrids, nor are they overall good for the environment. They do help reduce fuel consumption some.
Currenty electric vehicles are the most fuel efficient vehicles and are better for the environment. Hybrids and hydrogen vehicles are also good for protecting the environment and pretty efficient.
They do not consume gas as much, and that means emitting less carbon dioxide into the environment.
They are really more of a feel good issue at present. The hope is that hybrids will lead to the production of cars that are better for the environment. The current cars have drawbacks that make them slightly worse then their conventional counterparts.
This whole question is very broad. There is no data that states that hybrids have made any impact in "saving the environment" I'm sure however that if a more direct question was asked it would be easier to answer.
The top reason that people are now racing to buy hybrids is for investment purposes. When you buy a hybrid, you are investing in a safe car as well as the environment. By purchasing a hybrid you can contribute to a cleaner environment all while cutting off your dependence on gasoline. Thanks to hybrids excellent fuel economy, they will continue to dominate the auto industry for years to come.
Almost every car manufacturer has hybrid and other environmentally friendly car models on the market. Some include Tesla's electric cars, or Ford's hybrids.
Hybrids have little negative effect on the environment. They use slightly less fuel then a similar sized conventional car and used a great deal more energy and hazardous materials in the creation of them. Overall almost all hybrids on the road today will have no positive effect on the environment overall. As far as status appeal, hybrids do provide some level of that. The greenhouse issue, if you believe in the politics associated with it, is mainly an issue of the overuse of energy within our buildings. Well over half of all GHG's that man produces are from our homes.
The Kia Hybrid is a good choice. They typically have a lower price tag than other hybrids and a high trade in value. I reccomend further investigation at ConsumerReports.com.
