Everyone has a different opinion. In my opinion, Islam resembles Judaism more than Christianity in its stricter observance of monotheism, similar texts (the Quran and the Torah, respectively), the language those texts were revealed in (Arabic and Hebrew are both Semitic languages), etc.

Beliefs of the Muslims, the Jews and the Christians

(Islam, Christianity and Judaism):

1. Belief in Almighty Allah (God): God- Allah is ONE Allah. There is no god but He. He and He alone deserves worship. He is All-Knowing, All-Seeing. All power lies in His Hands. He will punish the sinners and reward the Good. He is Eternal, Unique, and incorporeal. There is nothing like Him. This belief is shared by Muslims and Jews.

2. Belief in Angels Created by Almighty God- Allah Karim from light. They are obedient to Allah Karim. Carry out His commands. The Jews and Christians also believe in the Angels.

3. The Muslims believe in all heavenly books, including Tora, Zaboor, The Bible, the last one being the Qur'an. The Jews believe in Torah being the heavenly book given to Hazrat Moses (AS). The Christians believe in the Bible.

4. The Muslims believe in all the Messengers (Prophets May peace be upon them all) of Almighty Allah- No distinction among them. Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) being the last Prophet of Islam. NO Prophet after him.

The Jews consider Hazrat Moses (AS) the Greatest Prophet. The Muslims also consider Hazrat Moses (AS) one of the Greatest prophets. The holy Qur'an mentions him the most. The holy Qur'an mention Hazrat Marry (AS) and Hazrat Jesus Christ (AS) in many verses with great respect and honor. Hazrat Marry (AS) was Virgin, got pregnant miraculously and gave birth to Jesus Christ AS.

5. The Muslims The Christians and the Jews believe in the life after death, resurrection and the Day of Judgment. Almighty Allah Karim is the Sole Ruler/Master of that Day. He enjoys the absolute authority to send people to Heaven or Hell. The Christians believe that Hazrat Jesus Christ (A) will save them.

6. The Muslims and the Jews believe that good and bad Destiny being in the Hands of Almighty Allah. No One can change his destiny.

7. Life hereafter: All the dead will be raised again and judged according to their good or bad deeds. There will be no death to them.

8. Hell and Heaven (Paradise)

9. The Muslims and the Jews believe that Nobody can take the responsibility of some other person's deeds.

10. All the power of decision making is in the Hands of Almighty Allah, and none else.

The Christians believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. The Jews and the Muslims believe that attributing a Son, or Parents to God is the Greatest and Unpardonable sin.

The Jews believe that they successfully had Jesus crucified. The Christians also believe that Jesus was crucified and raised again.

The Muslims believe that the Jews tried to get Jesus (AS) crucified. The stakes were ready but Almighty God raised him alive to heavens and the person who got into the cell to take Jesus out was given the shape and form like Jesus and he was crucified. So the Jews and Christians are in doubt.

The Muslims believe that Jesus will come down from heavens before the last day. The Jews also wait for Messiah.

in Islam God is only one. God is not material. God is not human. God created all things and all materials and God created time and place. God does not have any time and has no start and end. God is not a physical being. and God created all thing for human and created human for himself (God is not male or female but usually male words are used about it).

God created human to human pray God and finally can know and meet God.

and all messengers are for guidance of human to their path to meet God.

Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, Muhammad (Peace on them all) and many other prophets (124000 prophet during history) all are sent by God and Muhammad (PBUH) is final messenger of God.

Yes, Islam is closely linked with both Christianity and Judaism. People of all the three faiths are descended from Abraham; they recognize and honor the Hebrew Scriptures as well as the Hebrew patriarchs and prophets.

Islam honors Jesus of Nazareth as a great prophet, who is seen as the 'son of god' to mainstream Christianity.

In addition to the above, the following details may be added:Islam is an Arabic word that means submission and surrender to God. The root of the word Islam is 'salem' that means being in peace. So, Islam is submission and surrender to Allah (God, the Creator) and hence fulfilling peace.

In this sense Islam began by the universe creation where all God creatures were created with full submission (Islam) to God. Upon start of mankind, people were taught through God prophets to be on full submission (Islam) to God. All prophet missions; including Noah, Abraham, Joseph, Moses, David, Solomon, ..., Jesus, and Muhammad, were to call for and teach people to hold submission (Islam) to the one and only one God, the Creator, with no partner, no son, no associate, no companion, and no resemblance.

In this sense:

  • Islam per God revelation of Torah to Moses is called Judaism.
  • Islam per God revelation of the bible to Jesus is called Christianity.
  • Islam per God revelation of Quran to Muhammad is called the very name Islam.

Islam is associated with Christianity and Judaism since they are the religions of the same God.

Muslims call Jews and Christians as "people of the book" as they are holders of the Torah and the Bible God holy books that Muslims believe in these book divinities and they believe in Moses and Jesus as God prophets and messengers. Muslims consider that the five greatest prophets are Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad (peace be upon them all).

Answer 1

Judaism, Christianity, and Islam are all related religions, often called Abrahamic religions (all based on the people of Abraham), or "Religions of the Book", as they all use a common set of religious texts ("Old Testament" to Christians) as part of their authoritative writings.

However, all three have very significant differences in theology, made even larger by the fact that all three are hardly monolithic doctrines, and have a wide variety of different sects.

Honestly, they have a few things in common, but really are completely different in worldview, expected behavior, and morals.

Answer 2The three religions are similar in that they are monotheistic religions that founded by same God; the Creator; the one and only one God. The three religions call for full submission to God (that means in Arabic Islam). They call for the same morals and conduct (for example don't lie, don't commit adultery; don't steal; help the poor; ... etc). The three religions have same ritual worships (praying, fasting, almsgiving, ... ) but done differently. Refer to related question below.

In reality, there really is no similarity to best describe the Judeo-Christian beliefs of God to the Muslim Islamic belief.

Judaism and Christianity have the Old Testament in common. Islam believes both OT and NT have been partially corrupted in transmission while the Koran is believed by Muslims to be the final and infallible revelation of God's will.

Though Muslims believe in God which they call Allah, Islam teaches that Allah is all-powerful, sovereign and 'unknowable' while Judaism and Christianity both teach the Creator God to be revealed as merciful, compassionate and knowable (see Jeremiah 9:24 and John 17:3).

The Christian text teaches the God of the Old Testament was the Word and it was He who Abraham and the other patriarchs and prophets worshiped. Islam teaches the Word, aka Jesus 'as one of perhaps 124,000 messengers of prophets Allah has sent and is one of the 25 listed in the Koran - but He is not the redeemer' (Marvin Olasky, "Islam vs. Liberty," World, Sept 10, 2011).

All in all, there are more differences and conflicts between the Judeo-Christian texts and the Muslim text, as well as the Koranic conflicts with secular history.
