  • There are different types of love. When you meet each other and are first married you can't seem to get enough of each other and are deeply in love. Part of it is sexual and part emotional. When reality sets in and we get a little older and work hard; save for a house; start a family the partners can often get lost from each other from their hectic schedules, but the love in many cases is still there, but not the magical love as they were as young lovers. When the children grow up and leave home then the hectic schedules generally slow down and that is when the couple are now facing each other and realize they have to change their lifestyle and do more things together. Some couples manage to do so, but some couples find each other boring and there could be affairs or, divorces. There are good marriages out there that have lasted 28 years to 60 years or more and the love felt for each other is still magical to a point, but is more peaceful and reassuring. The couple are best friends because they have gone through so much together; they socialize a lot; they may go on short or long holidays and have a good time, but sometimes because of illness their sexual relationship may suffer, but in many cases this is a test of true love. During a humans life span they go through all sorts of hormonal and emotional changes and there comes a point as they grow older when they start to wonder if there isn't more to life then being with the same partner, but most couples ignore this and stick it out. If one is wise they will ask themselves this question, 'What if my wife/husband were killed in a car accident; how would I react?' You wouldn't feel the full blow of the death of your mate, but would have some idea. Sometimes it takes a trauma for one or both of the couples to realize just how much they really do need and love each other.

How many same-sex couples have married in Washington county Pennsylvania?

No marriage licenses have yet been issued to same-sex couples in Washington state. The law legalizing same-sex marriage will reportedly take effect on December 6, 2012. Update: Today, December 6, 2012, my partner of almost 14 years (Diane Roznik) and I (Michelle Adams) were the first same sex couple to obtain a marriage license in Kittitas County Washington. We didn't see any other couples applying when we left at about 9:30 a.m. Hopefully we will see more couples getting married in Kittitas County soon.

Does reconfirmation of wedding vows mean you have been married in the Catholic Church?

Yes it does. If, for example, you were married in a civil ceremony, the Church does not recognize that as sacramental matrimony and you must 'regularize' that marriage with the Church by confirming your wedding vows before a priest or a deacon. Some couples who have been validly married in the Church for many years will renew their wedding vows also, even though they have been validly married for years.

Is your wife entilted to 50 percent of your pension if you are married for 11 years and then get divorced?

She is entitled to 50% of the portion of your Pension of the years you were married. For example, If you had a Pension fund for 7 years, prior to your marriage, then married for 11 years, she is entitled only to 50% of the portion of the Pension you acquired during the 11 years you were married, and not the 7 years of the Pension, prior to your marriage.
