Really a matter of opinion and how much you want to pay, but cheap wires that cost as much to ship as to purchase can also have poor or no performance. Stick to something name brand and the new Move and 3D require higher performance and better cables than earlier. I purchased a Sony Flat HDMI cable at Walmart mainly because the PS3 and HDTV were both Sony and wanted Sony for that reason alone, However because they were out of stock for the Sony PS3 cable I selected a Sony flat HDMI cable. Other cables were both more and less than the $45 paid (Both from Sony's other cables and those of other Brands) For your own peace of mind about the connection during the years of use it is better not to be concerned whether reception and other problems are the fault of the HDMI cable.

Which HDMI is better 30v 80c style20276 or monster 300 HDMI?

The sole purpose of an HDMI cable is to carry digital data from one device to another. Because the data is digital, the information received is identical to the information sent by the source. There is no difference in the image quality between any two HDMI cables. Therefore, a $1 HDMI cable will deliver the same image quality as a $200 HDMI cable. Although a more expensive cable is likely to have more robust connectors and a higher grade of cable, the end result is exactly the same as the least expensive. Any salesman telling you that the best quality is achieved with expensive HDMI cables is either lying or ignorant.

How does wireless HDMI compare to a wired setup?

The biggest advantage to a wireless HDMI setup compared to wired is that one does not need to be physically connected to the device, for example a TV. The disadvantage though is wireless HDMI is much more expensive with kits costing $200.

Are there different types of HDMI cables?

An analog signal might become distorted in various ways that may or may not be noticed. No so with digital in a home environment. PC World found no difference between a $150.00 HDMI and a $3.04 one in their tests. This is the general concensus on the Web. This does NOT mean that a cable with poor strain relief or cheap, loose connectors won't eventually break and give you problems. But you don't need to spend more than a few bucks to get a decent cable. Don't even THINK of spending "Monster Cable" prices for HDMI!

Where can I buy the best HDMI cable from?

HDMI is a signal interface that carries digital data. As long as the data is received without error, the quality of signal remains identical. HDMI cables that are properly tested will carry an HDMI signal without errors and therefore no cable will produce better results than any other. A fault with a cable normally results in no signal being displayed rather than a poor quality signal. Better quality cables will tend to be a larger diameter than cheap cables and use better quality contacts as well. These will bot contribute to long term reliability but neither will affect image quality in any way.

Olevia Which HDMI cord do you use?

HDMI cables should be manufactured to the HDMI standard and have the HDMI logo on the cable or packing. The logo should guarantee that the cable will operate correctly. Because HDMI is fully digital, a cable will either work or it won't. There will be no improvement in quality by purchasing more expensive cables. Claims by manufacturers that their cable must be used for "full quality" or "best quality" are misleading. Certain manufacturers offer cables in excess of $300. Be assured that they will provide EXACTLY the same quality of image and sound as a $10 cable. Of course, the $300 cable might look better! Although some cables may be more robust than others, this is only likely to make a difference if the cable will be repeatedly connected and disconnected. Other than that, expect the lowest cost cables to perform as well and last as long as the most expensive.
