In general, the names of Dog Breeds are not capitalized. Exceptions to this rule are breeds that have a name based upon a global location. For example, Alaskan malamute, Siberian husky, and Labrador retriever. On the other hand, boxers, Rottweiler's, and golden retriever have no capitalization.

If by animal names you are referring to horses, cows, sheep, coyotes, etc., then no. Only proper nouns are capitalized. If a person's name is part of the name of the animal, such as Morgan horse, Jack Russell terrier, that that portion, being a proper noun is capitalized. If you are referring to the name of a pet, or an animal in a zoo who has a name, such as Rex, Gertrude, Bernie, or Yogi, then these too are capitalized as they are also proper nouns.
