In the same way that Scots, Welsh, Irish and English people very distantly related to Russians, Indians and Turks, all native American people are related to each other. But you have to go back far into prehistoric times to find the common ancestor group.

Even further back (so the theory says), all modern humans originated in east Africa and spread from a very small population to cover the entire planet, so modern English people are theoretically also very distantly related to Japanese, Aborigines and native Americans.
