they are both fine its what makes u more comfortable with i prefer tampons cause wen i wear pads it feels like im wearin a diaper.
yeah i started with pads for like a year and then switched to tampons and i dont think i could go back :P

Some people prefer one more then another, I use both, (tampons during the day and pads at night,) but its your choice in the end what you want to do. Try both and then decide what you would prefer.

∙ 8y agoThis is a matter of opinion, also remember that if you use tampons you still have to use pads and you have more options than just tampons and pads - you can also use menstrual cups, softcups, diaphragms, menstrual sponges, and you can even go without products by using menstrual release.
Tampons are more discreet than menstrual pads and can be worn for swimming or sports, but they pose multiple health risks such as TSS and increased vaginal infections, tampons can also cause dryness and increased menstrual cramps. Tampons can't be worn throughout your period so you still have to use pads with light flow, overnight, if you have an infection, and alternate with pads.
Pads are a lot simpler than tampons and have far fewer precautions to worry about, if you use cloth pads they feel no different to just wearing your normal underwear so barely noticeable as long as you change them often. Pads are safer than tampons, especially for younger women, too.

Tampons have various health risks, it's harder to tell when they're full so leaking can be a surprise, there are lots of precautions you have to follow which makes them a little impractical, but tampons are internal so more discreet and allow you to participate in sports like swimming. Pads are a lot simpler with fewer risks, if you use cloth pads they feel little different to just wearing your underwear but commercial pads can be uncomfortable and not feel very hygienic. Remember too that when you use tampons you still have to use pads sometimes too, so it's not one or the other.

Well, tampons you can't really feel and pads it feels like you are wearing a diaper. Sometimes people just prefer tampons because when you get up with pads, it feels like there is a rush of blood flowing out. Tampons are more disposable and there's less chance of a leak. Then again to prevent leaks with a tampon is to wear a panty liner. But a way to feel alittle more fresh when your on your period is to bring some compack wet wipes from a brand such as always or playtex. It will just make you feel more clean and wash away all of the left or dried blood.I know it sounds revolting but no need to panic. And you can also swim with tampons rather then pads.
