Yes! You may loose life points fairly quickly because of special abilities, but the abilities are good. However, there is a card called 'Brain Research Lab' which lets you activate a psychic monster's effect without paying life points. It also lets you summon an additional psychic-type monster per turn. This is a field spell card, but every time you use one of it's effects a counter is placed on it. If the card is destroyed, you take damage equal to the number of counters x 1000 life points. The REALLY good news is that there are two good cards to change that last effect in your favor. These are:
Prime Material Dragon (level 6, effect): Gain life points equal to the amount of damage you would have taken by a card effect.
Barrel Behind the Door (trap): Active only when you would have taken damage by a card effect. Inflict the damage to your opponent's life points instead.
It's really easy to suddenly get many counters on Brain Research Lab, and when your opponent uses Mystical Space Typhoon and thinks "Yes, OWNED!", you can instantly inflict many, many thousands of damage to your opponent with the above trap card, or gain that many life points instead of losing them...or both.
The best are dinosaur decks and dragon decks. P.S Dragon decks are better Dragon decks are the best. AKA: divine beast decks kill but 1 in a trillion use them.)
