There is such a thing as a naturally bobtailed dog but the gene for natural taillessness is very rare. It is true that some Rottweilers are born with natural bobtails, but the vast majority are cosmetically docked.

It is a matter of preference. Some people prefer the tails and ears cropped and some do not. What is "cute" to some may be ugly to others.
