If you get them as a puppy and SOCIALIZE them with cats, dogs, babies, etc, then they should be friendly for the rest of their adult lives (especially if you keep up the socialization process).

However, the male SBT's could be dog aggressive if they are not neutered or not socialized. You could try to train them to become socialized, but it's more difficult if they weren't socialized as a young puppy (but not impossible).

I have a female SBT who did not like cats because I made the mistake of socializing her with everyone (dogs, babies, adult humans), but not cats. I wanted to get a cat when she was two years old so I had to get a KITTEN because the male kitten did not pose any threat, she eventually accepted it (with a lot of enforcement by myself chastising her when she showed aggression towards the eight week old kitten). I don't think it would be possible to introduce an adult cat to an adult SBT if the SBT doesn't like cats ---- you have to start out with a kitten and be FIRM if the SBT shows any aggression.

With any dog breed, it's easier for a female dog to accept a male dog and vice versa. In other words, if you already have a dog, then if you want to get a second dog, get the OPPOSITE GENDER.

Generally, because Staffordshire bull terriers are known to be human-loving dogs, they do not make the best guard dogs and it is not advisable to want to use them to be guard dogs.

Is a bull terrier bigger than a staffie?

Firstly, the Pit Bull is not actually a breed, but the term is used to refer to breeds such as the American Pit Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier and sometimes the Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Assuming by ''Pit Bull'' you mean the American Pit Bull Terrier or American Staffordshire Terrier, the difference is that the Staffordshire Bull Terrier is a few inches shorter, weighs less and was first bred in England. ''Pit Bull'' type dogs are unfortunately illegal in many countries, such as the UK, with the exception of the Staffordshire Bull Terrier; which is still legal.

All these dogs are similar but some people mistrake labs, Shar Peis and other breeds with these. What Are The Pit bull Breeds?

Pit bulls often refer to breeds of dogs in the Mastiff group of dogs, which are generally larger dogs that are often (historically) used for dog fighting. Other breeds of dogs which are in the same category are the American Pit Bull Terrier, the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, and the American Staffordshire Terrier. I do know that Pit Bulls derive from cross-breeding's of Mastiffs and American Staffordshire Terriers (look at a pic of Staffordshires and Pit Bulls, they look almost the same!!) and maybe other breeds. Good answer! But, the term "pit bull" refers more to terriers. "Pit Bulls" included the American Pit Bull Terrier, the American Staffordshire Terrier, and the Staffordshire Terrier. The most common reference to the term "pit bull" refers to the American Pit Bull Terrier, which does not stem from the Mastiff family. The American Pit Bull Terrier more closely stems from a mix of Staffordshire Terrier and Old English Bulldog (not to be confused with American Bulldog.) The American Bulldog is more closely related to the Mastiff family, not the American Pit Bull Terrier, the American Staffordshire Terrier, or the Staffordshire Terrier.

Can you feed garlic garlic to a staffordshire bull terrier?

There is no consensus about whether dogs can eat garlic or not, with some saying garlic is good for dogs, and others that it should be avoided. Because of the lack of consensus it is probably best to not feed garlic to a Staffordshire bull terrier, just to be on the safe side.
