No, students should not be allowed to bring mobile phones in school. It will hamper their study.. you can bring your phone to skool school* sometimes, u You*can easily hand it to the teacher in the morning and get it after skool school*. what What* happens if you have to meet your mum somewhere and you didn't no know*where, or the skool school*didnt no know*? what What* would u you* do then?

No wonder teachers hate children bringing phones to school. They can't even spell correctly, so the teachers have given up on them. (skool, really?)

Also, if you were to give your phone to the teacher, they would take it away. At least, at my district. You aren't allowed to show phones WHAT SO EVER. If you do they will be confiscated.

No ! Students get bullied, some jealous and why would you need them any way. If you use them in class it distracts you and kids use them inapropriatly and talk about people or a just plain rude and you should be able to use the school phone if anything is wrong. I think students should not be allowed cellphones at school !

Texting... School isn't for texting and ignoring the teachers. You are there to learn! Many people sneak cell phones into school. And just so you know, many people who have cell phones at school and text are most likely to fail. You don't pay attention. So to answer your question, its because kids abuse them and windup loosing the privilege to hold them and use them properly.

Should students be allowed to have cell phones in elementary and high schools? Yes definitely they do because of some particular reasons.

The first reason is which everyone knows is they have to make phone calls to someone when they are in a danger situation or other situations that is necessary to call someone. E.g you have been followed by a group of guys that are physically bigger than you in school and there are no teachers in the school at the moment. Obviously the only way to escape from them is to call your parents, police or go to the nearby Shopping Centre.

The second reason is music. Most students need their iPods, phones and other music players to play the music. They need the music to concentrate when they're studying in school even at lunch time and recess. The earphones are always in my ears because i just couldn't live without music. The teacher keeps telling me to take it off but i just couldn't take it off because once i take it off, i would felt non-concentrate to the period and rest of the periods.

The third reason is 3G. Well, i don't really use 3G at school because its not necessary. But, my friends especially girls are always on 3G checking their Facebook, Twitter and other websites. Sometimes they took pictures of them and posted it on the internet using 3G. I saw my friends are using Facebook even in class! They're overly obsessed with their phone.

The fourth reason is Games. Obviously everyone uses their phone to play games. I'd made an example of me. My iPod used to have 30+ games. Im so obsessed with my iPod back then. I had a HTC Sensation XL Android phone and its full of games! I decided to delete all the games that i had on my phone just because i don't want to get addicted to the games.

It depends on the school. Some schools will confiscate mobile phones (they can legally do this). You should generally be allowed to take a phone to school, for emergency contact reasons. However, keep it turned off in lessons unless you want to face confiscation.
