No, tampons are not healthy or hygienic.
Tampons have several negative effect on the vagina:
Thus why tampons commonly cause vaginal infections, are linked with Toxic shock syndrome (TSS), can increase menstrual cramps, and there are concerns about toxins such as dioxin in tampons.
Tampons aren't particularly good for anyone as they have a negative affect on vaginal health and hygiene - thus they can cause vaginal infections, increased cramps, and Toxic Shock Syndrome.
Tampons aren't recommended to pre-teens or teens as even if you're mature enough to understand the risks and responsible enough to follow precautions, you're still at higher risk of Toxic Shock Syndrome as your vaginal tissues are more delicate and your immunity isn't as high as in an adult.
It's recommended pre-teens and teens start with sanitary pads and if they wish to move to using internal options they should consider safe options like menstrual cups or softcups which pose no health risks like tampons - this also makes cups more convenient, plus there are other benefits to cups.
Tampons are unhygienic and unhealthy.
Tampons prevent vaginal cleaning, encourage bacterial growth, change vaginal pH, damage vaginal tissues, and commercial tampon brands contain harmful ingredients - all of which posts risks of TSS, vaginal infections, increased cramps, and long-term risks from cumulative exposure.
Tampons are inconvenient due to health risks, tampons have to be changed every 4-6 hours, can't be used before menstruation, can't be used with light flow, can't be used during a vaginal infection, can't be used overnight while sleeping, and you need to alternate with pads. Tampons also leak.
Most tampons are disposable, manufactured using wood pulp and non-organic cotton, and then heavily chemically treated which means a lot of waste and environmental harm via pollution. Tampon companies often claim tampons are flushable when they're not, adding to problems.
Tampon companies also have a long record of poor ethics when it comes to the environment, animal cruelty, mistreatment of workers, health of their customers, and using menstrual taboos to sell products which contributes to wider social/cultural issues for women.
There's no such thing as a safe tampon.
Risks from tampon use include:
Yes, tampons always have a negative effect on vaginal hygiene and health.
Tampons create the perfect environment in which bacteria can thrive, while at the same time preventing vaginal cleaning and damaging vaginal walls by drying out vaginal tissues. Furthermore commercial tampons contain a wide range of substances which may pose irritation short-term but long-term could pose greater risks: dioxin for example is present in tampons and highly toxic.
Tampons thus are a common cause of vaginal infections and increased menstrual cramps, they are also strongly linked to Toxic Shock Syndrome. Toxic Shock Syndrome is potentially fatal and why there are so many precautions when it comes to tampon use.
Many women use them without any problems. Follow the instructions and you should be fine.
Tampons are not bad. It may be uncomforatble to use them the first time, but you can swim with them and do sports without having to worry about a pad.
No as long as you change them when you are supposed to. Otherwise it can get infected with bacteria.
yes because its natural for you to use them
At the drugstore. There are adult diapers in the same isle as tampons.

-13
no, it is not bad at all!
It depends on their height.
Yes it's okay for 13 year old to use tampons or whatever else they want during soccer or any other activity they want to do on their period. Tampons are not recommended to teens due to increased risks of TSS so you need to make sure you understand the risks and how to use tampons correctly to reduce risks. You may want to consider using safer more reliable options like menstrual cups.
