There are no carbureted versions of the Nissan Maxima made, everything is fuel injected or throttle body injected these days. Not since the 80's anyways.

look in the engine compartment on the left side behind the power steering fluid reservoir, the fuel injected models have a canister type filter, but the carbureted models have one on the frame rail in the back by the tank.
