Hannibal did not go directly to Rome from Carthage, which was in Tunisia. He went via Spain, and crossed the Alps to get to Italy.
There isn't any. Rome is built on and aroud hills, which in no way could be considered mountains. The mountains in Italy are the Apennines and the Alps, neither of which are in Rome or even near to Rome.

One disadvantage of the Alps in Rome is that they act as a physical barrier, making it more difficult for transportation and trade between Rome and other regions. The steep and rugged terrain of the Alps can also pose challenges for construction and infrastructure development in the city. Additionally, the Alp's cold climate can limit the agricultural potential of the region surrounding Rome.
The city of Rome, Italy is not located at the base of the Alps as they are located much further north in Switzerland. Rome is one of the largest cities in Italy and is home to nearly 3 million residents.
