Both have spirtual angles- the three degrees of craftsman: Apprentice, Journeyman, and Master, for example, the three states of Matter- Solid-Liquid-Gas, The three tenses of time- past, present and future, and also the Religious angles of Faith , Hope and Charity and so on.. some Fairy Tales and even science-fictionized fantasies have added on the 72 hour time limit to perform some usually bizarre task- this is in a sense a sickening parody of the Passion Of Christ- and the three day interval between Good Friday and Easter Sunday! It figures in too many tales to be coincidental. as for 7, Seven days of the week, 7 sacraments, 7 days of creation, 7Th day adventism, and so on. there is a lot of sneaky parodying of religion in these tales and it is not, methinks, a good ideal.

Yes, both the numbers three and seven frequently appear in folktales and mythology around the world. They are often used to represent important themes such as completion, perfection, or spiritual significance. These numbers are deeply rooted in cultural symbolism and are commonly found in storytelling traditions.

Three and seven are very common in folktales. Three wishes, three sisters, three brothers, three questions, three tries. You see three all over the place! Quite often an event will be repeated twice without success, and then on the third time the protagonist succeeds. This is the origin of the saying, "Third time's a charm."

As for seven, there are tales with seven dwarves, seven swans, seven seas, seven brothers and seven sisters.

7 is from The Bible, perhaps from adding 3 (the heavenly number) with 4 (which represent earth somehow). If you think that the bible is a fairy tale, then the answer is yes. That 7 is considered to be special can be seen in many places. The week has 7 days, there are 7 continents, 7 seas and there are 7 colors. Although the exact number of continents depends on how you define that word, the number of seas depend on how you divide them and the colors are really six but Newton inserted an extra one called indigo between blue and violet. Number 3 is more common in fairy tales (3 brothers, 3 wishes etc).
