Yes. They are equal in strength. See the related link below the answer.
Select: Clonazepam --> Alprazolam or vice versa.
The ratio of strength is 1:1. They are the strongest benzodiazepines out there. 4mg of Xanax or Klonopin is equal to roughly 80mg of Valium (Diazepam).
Klonopin is available in 0.25, 0.5, 1, and 2mg tablets. Klonopin has a minty taste, so it is easily tolerated in the mouth, can be rapidly absorbed through the buccal lining in the mouth if it is crushed up and held in the mouth for about 5 minutes. It dissolves fairly easily with saliva. Xanax (Alprazolam), on the other hand, doesn't taste too well, and usually is swallowed whole.
There is no point to ingesting these drugs intranasally, it will only take longer for them to kick in.
Klonopin is only active for about 6 hours, but has a very long half-life of metabolites (30-60 hours) and does not come in an extended release form. Xanax is available in regular form and XR (extended-release) form.
Moderate anxiety is usually treated with Xanax. Severe anxiety is treated with Klonopin. They are also sometimes prescribed for short-term insomnia.
Avoid mixing these drugs with alcohol, or limit intake of alcohol to one or two drinks. Drinking in excess with just 2mg of Xanax or Klonopin active in the system can cause death in a average-sized teenager or adult.
Take extreme caution when on any benzodiazepine if you are planning on operating a car or machinery until you know how it affects your ability to operate such machinery.
No, Xanax and clonazepam are two different things.
Alprazolam is commercialised under several names, including Xanax.
Clonazepam on the other hand can be found as Rivotril or Klonopin.
In an essence, yes. They are both a benzodiazepine- working on your central nervous system. Typically both are prescribed for aniexty disorders (just like Ativan) and some sleep problems (but for sleep, you will typically get Valium- another benzodiazepine).
Here are the few differences between clonazepam (Klonapin) and alprazolam (Xanex):
1) Xanex are know for working faster but will wear off quicker. Be aware (as most doctors don't mention this) that Xanex in particular as known for making you forget simple things (like when you last took a dose, or what you were watching on TV ten min ago). This is due to the fact that ALL benzodiazepines effect your frontal lobe- which is where your short term memory is. Many people refer to Xanex as "forget me nots".
2) Klonapin is usually the first medication in this family a doctor will give you, since its believed it is less additive (although both are). Klonapin takes a little longer to begin working, but the effects will last longer.
Both (as with any benzodiazepine) should NOT be mixed with alcohol, as this can cause seizures and possible death. Either in higher doses can cause the same reaction, and when you suddenly stop taking either medication you are more prone to seizures as well as many other withdrawl effects (sweats, more severe anxiety than when you began the medications, insomnia, etc)
No. Xanax is alprazolam and Klonopin is clonazepam. Both are closely related, since both are benzodiazepines.
Yes they are. They are both benzodiazepines.
Klonopin is a little more potent than Xanax, but works in much the same way.
Yes it is. They are both benzodiazepines. Xanax is very short lasting, Klonopin is longer lasting.
yes
Both belong to class the class of "super-potent" benzodiazepines. Technically, Klonopin is more potent than Ativan (0.25mg-0.5mg klonopin = 1mg ativan), but if you are wondering which produces more euphoria, most would agree Ativan beats Klonopin. My psychiatrist recently swapped me from klonopin to ativan for my social anxiety, and I find ativan works faster and produces a much more calming effect than the klonopin did.
Benzodiazapines Valium (diazapam) Xanax (alprazolam) Ativan (Lorazapam) Klonopin (Clonazapam)
Ativan, Xanax, Klonopin ~ all the benzos. I take 60 XR Adderall per day and about 3 Ativan 2 mg.
can zolof and xanax taken at the same time
A person should not mix Ativan and Xanax. This is because the two drugs work with the body in the same way and could cause an overdose.
Ativan can be stronger than Xanax. However, it depends on the milligram dosage. Both Ativan and Xanax are anti-anxiety prescription medications.
Xanax (alprazolam)Klonopin (clonazepam)Valium (diazepam)Ativan (lorazepam)Serax (oxazepam)Librium (chlordiazepoxide)BuSpar (buspirone)
xanax is baddd news, i was on klonopin, then ativan then xanax just coz i wanted to see wat xanax was like, it was hell! every 3-5hrs it felt like i was panicing again, it has a very short haflife.
Alcohol intensifies the effect of benzodiazepines (such as Ativan, Xanax & Klonopin). This can lead to oversedation, incoordination, slurring of speech, and increased risk of falls and accidents.
Klonopin, with out a doubt!
No. Klonopin is clonazepam. It also goes by the names: Ceberclon, Klonopin, Klonopin Wafer and Valpax. I'll add a link to this post.
Xanax is used for anxiety disorder and Klonopin can also be used for the same thing. Xanax should be out of your system in 5 to 8 days.Klonopin can stay in your system for 24 to 48 hours.
