Not always. You need to be very careful when buying a wedding dress online. Not only what's shown in a picture may not be the dress you receive, the color may not be what you see. Wedding dresses being mostly shades of white, the lighting makes a big difference. The dress maybe ivory but in reality, it may be diamond white. You can't really go by the description, either. Every company has different names for their colors.
Then there maybe sizing issues, too. Every manufacture and designer size their dresses differently. One company's size 12 may be another company's size 10.
If you are set on purchasing your wedding dress online, be sure it's a reputable website. Try to find actual customer reviews and good return policy. Make sure you are doing it with plenty of time for returns and alterations, preferably 6-8 months before you need to wear your wedding dress.
