Yes, millions of myths exsist about horses. Including but not limited to the following:

"Horses only sleep on their feet"

Not true they sometime sleep laying down. More often when they are housed with other horses because the others can keep watch for predators

"Racehorses with 4 white socks are unlucky"

Not proven. Highly unlikely. Some cultures do believe they are unlucky but it hasnt been proven.

"If a groom or bride see a white horse on their wedding day, they will have a great marriage."

This hasnt be proven, but hasnt been shot down. Anythings possible I guess it depends on the persons attitude about it.

"Horses with a broken leg have to euthenized."

Not true! Several years ago, yes, but not anymore. Now a days vets have the abilities to fix a brake or fracter due to all the advanced equipment.

"Hooves are solid"

Not true, hooves are hollow...ish. They contain other bones such as the coffin.

"Horses never get sick"

Not true. Ponys are hardy animals and can go years without having health problems but still need to have check ups. Horses should have atleast 2 vet checks a year and be caught up on all of their shots.

"Dark hooves are stronger then lighter hooves."

Not true. Studies have not found any differences between them.

"Horses are afraid of snakes."

Depends on the horse. My horses arent afraid of snakes because we desensitized them when they were foals but one of my friends horses, Buckshot, is scared to death of them. It really depends on the horses backround, how they were raised and what they were exposed to throughout their life.

As I said there are MILLIONS of myths about horses. These are just some common ones.
