The story has been optioned - for $19, all you Tower junkies - but has stalled in pre-pre-production. J.J. Abrams and several other filmmakers rumored, at different times, to be involved, have all firmly stated they aren't interested in making the movies.
The screenplay is NOT being written, no decision has been made as to format (ie, TV miniseries or feature film). Much more importantly, no one is in charge of the project, and there is certainly no guarantee that there will ever be a project. Don't get your hopes up. Long days and pleasant nights, sai.
