Next there are several in the 48 states - all as far as I am aware associated with the western states. Then there are the volcanoes of the 50th state - Hawaii. All the islands are volcanoes, and Mauna Kea is considered to be dormant possibly extinct, Mauna Loa is dormant - it last erupted in 1984, Kilauea is active and has been erupting since 23rd January 1983, off the coast of Hawaii is an active submarine volcano - Loihi.
