The police and the laws in California are very specific. However, we have noticed in traveling in the state that if you stay with traffic that sometimes everyone is speeding. Best to watch your speed everywhere, since tickets are expensive.

In Cary, NC, a Red Light Camera violation is like a parking ticket. No points are assessed to your driving record and no record of the violation is sent to your insurance company or the DMV.
No, they do not check if your name and the name on the ticket matches
Speed cameras (in most countries - but certainly in the UK) are required to take two pictures, the second a fixed time after the other. The pictures should show how many of the white markings (painted on the road where the cameras are set up) a car has passed in the fixed period between the two pictures. This allows you to calculate the actual speed of the cars in the picture. Thus the car overtaking you should have gone further than your car. If you are sent a ticket, request the police to send you the two pictures which are the evidence of your offense and take these to a solicitor.
You will need a ticket to go and see the Pantomimeat Christmas. You need a ticket to watch Partick Thistle play football at home in the Scottish League. You need a ticket to take the Pendolino train from Preston to Penrith.

Yes, You could get a traffic ticket for a red light violation in California. The evidence is collected by still shot and vidoe cameras.
As in the "unsuspecting motorist" that is speeding? If so, the do you mean besides the fact that they get an actual speeding ticket? The show Speeders is just like the show COPS. The "participants" are actual speeders (in Speeders) and actual criminals (in COPS) along with actual police officers in both. The only "fake" police show was Reno 911, which was a mockumentary of COPS.
if i have a ticket in California can i get a drivers license in Kentucky
You don't want to know. i got one from one of the cameras (Inland Empire) & was over 400.00 1st offense. Varies with city, I'm sure, but they are all steep. A parking ticket is 60.00 now.
You probably got nailed in a speed trap. Similar to red light cameras, speed cameras/traps have built in radar guns in them designed to catch anyone going over the posted limit. If the person is speeding the radar guns trigger a camera to photograph the vehicle. What you will get in the mail is the citation, your photo, and the alleged speed. In otherwirds, you can be mailed a ticket without ever being pulled over.

California has no statute of limitations for speeding tickets. You were duly informed and charged with the violation by the ticket.
