There are a number of patient assistance programs that can help pay for prescriptions you need for your medical care, but no groups that cover overall care outside of those who qualify for medicare or medicaid or similar state run programs. Some of the prescription assistance programs are through the manufacturers directly and your doctor can direct you to those. Merck (http://www.merck.com/responsibility/pap-information.html), Bristol Meyers(http://www.bms.com/products/Pages/programs.aspx) and Abbot (http://www.abbott.com/global/url/content/en_US/40.20.15:15/general_content/General_Content_00066.htm) do have online applications. Other programs include RXassist (www.rxassist.org/) and NeedyMeds (www.needymeds.org) as well as an index of a number of programs at www.pparx.org. Most programs have online applications or toll free numbers to call.
