There are still witches today. (Like me!) As a matter of fact, there are 50,000 to 3 million Wiccans today, and it is the fastest growing world religion.
The short answer is YES. There are a large number of people following their own spiritual path, who proudly consider and call themselves witches. We are not the witches of myth or fantasy. We do not ride brooms or curse people. We are generally good, honest, caring, and ethical people who follow a spiritual path of respect and reverence to nature, the world around us and all those within it.
Yes, the puritans in the 17th century believed in the supernatural and the existence of witches.
I believe it's possible yes.
this is a fine line really, I think it depends on what faith you are.
yes supernatural is really good
Some people say that supernatural powers do or don't exist. In actuality supernatural powers do exist. People like ghost hunters and priests who perform exorcists encounter supernatural powers or beings such as ghosts, demons, and angels. If you are part of Christianity or almost any other religion they speak of some god. In my case I am a Christian so I believe in God. I also believe in angels which are supernatural beings, as well as demons. So supernatural powers do exist, but I don't believe that you should mess with supernatural powers because they can be really dangerous.
Only if you believe in it and let it worry you. Anything can be bad if you let it bother you, from not having enough money to being worried bugs might get into your house. People have offered huge rewards for anyone who can really prove the supernatural exists and can affect us in any way. Nobody's collected the money yet; this should tell you something.
Yes witchcraft does exist. It is one of many spiritual paths available. Finding someone to teach you should be done locally. You need to be able to sit down with your mentor, talk to him or her and watch what they do. Much of what we do is as much in the gestures, movements and physicality as it is in the words, herbs and spells.
Really? Actually, it depends if you believe in the supernatural. Or, you could be just watching too many movies. More or less, no.
Well, simply put, A Puritan use to be part of a Catholic Church but had different opinions and wanted a reformation. Some stayed and reformed the church from within. Others, Independents, Separatists, wanted to start a new one by themselves! They are much close or if not is, a pilgrim. As pilgrims are just people that travel due to religious causes. Puritans also try to find a strict, theocracy community. One of such would be Salem, where hysteria and paranoia on witchcraft was then taken greatly. Puritans believe either that you are with God or against God (aka. with the Devil). Those who help the devil, and perform spells and charms are witches. It wasn't really invented but it was something that the Puritans felt strong against. As due to the 19 death via accusing of witchcraft by August 1692, it was mainly due to random accusations. Witchcraft can show no witness, you can be attacked by a ghost sent by a person, and the only thing you can do is, accuse him/her. As of such, it's even harder to prove your innocence, since even if you were elsewhere, you would've send a spirit instead of your physical body.
Witches are usually the ones performing witchcraft, not alot else really to say.
There never was witchcraft in Salem. It was all superstition that lead to the killings of innocent people.
No, not really. The Puritans were very much in following rules and community structure.
Yes they did, this all started from a book and then year by year everone started to believe that. But you might not see them in these days. They might not appear for ever!
